I am thinking about veneering a strat design guitar, with peanut tamo ash. Since the entire outside edge is rounded over, how do you make the transition, from the top to the sides without using a binding?

Ray,

I dont think you can get the veneer to bend over the radius as well as going around the shape of the guitar. Thats a bit much to ask veneer to do. You could try a dry run without glue and wet the veneer in the difficult area and see what you get. If your using a vacuum press you can massage the veneer through the bag which can help to some extent.

Sincerely
