Sun,

A system for veneering or fiberglass can be the same but usually differs in at least one or more ways.

A vacuum system for veneering usually has a bag with one open end and some kind of a closure that allow for repeatable use. Because the bag is fairly air tight the pump can be auto cylcing which allowing it to shut off at a certain level of vacuum and come back on after a set amount of drop.

A system for fiberglass usually uses a single film taped over the vacuumed area which is disposed of afterwards. Sometimes a trap is added to prevent excess resins from being sucked down into the pump, depending on the application. Because the film method is rairly very air tight the pump runs continuously and does not have a auto cycling mode.

You can use either system for veneering or fiberglass. I would choose depending on what the bulk of your work will be. You could also get a bag for veneering and use film for fiberglass work.

Sincerely
