Is there any reason one would'nt want to build torsion box (1/4 mdf and 1" honecomb) for a 12' conf table? I recently spoke to a layup shop who said they only doo solid mdf as there can be irregularities in honecomb? I'm wanting to go box route as I'm trying to keep base as small as possible. If I go solid mdf I worry about sagging over time. Thanks !

Dean,

I think your idea of 1/4" skins and 1" honeycomb would make a great table as well as giving you the strength and stability you are looking for.

I cannot understand why the layup shop would say honeycomb would be irregular. I have never found that to be true. Maybe they just dont like working with it.

Sincerely
