I just read the post entitled "Veneer on Solid Substrate". While I am new to veneering, the material I have read seems to indicate that a solid wood panel should be crossbanded before you apply the fancy veneer. Is this not tru?
thanks, john

There are always exceptions, but for the most part you put your face veneer directly onto the solid panel with the grain of the veneer going in the same direction as the solid. This allows the veneer and solid to expand and contract together without causing problems.
