Darryl,
I have ebony stringing in pearwood veneer. How do you keep the ebony dust from sanding out of the pores of the lighter colored pear.

Chris,

I block plane, then cabinet scrape the inlay area as much as possible before sanding. This helps to minimize sanding. Once I finish sanding I blow the area off with compressed air, the nozzle right up close. This has always worked well for me.

Another option would be to apply a sealer coat to the pear before putting in the ebony.
