I've always used standard veneer. I now plan to experiment with some paper backed
veneer, 1/32" face. Any particular things I should know or just proceed normally
with taping procedures and Unibond 800? I'll be doing both flat and curved surfaces.

Ron,

Paper backed veneer in general is easier to use than raw veneer. Proceed as you would normally do. Sometimes I recommend that the glue be spread lightly on both the veneer and substrate, something I do not do with raw veneer. Whether you do this or not depends on the paper backed veneer, glue and substrate. Because paper backed veneer does not have much glue absorption capacity (depending on the brand) rolling both surfaces may be necessary. I suggest a test to be sure. Usually this is the case with white and yellow glues because moisture absorption is important for a good bond.

Sincerely
Darryl Keil
