I've been making my own veneer and was wondering how thick you can make it before seasonal movement becomes an issue ? i'm vacuum pressing onto MDF or hardwood plywood?

Bill,

In general, the rule is 3/32" or less. Some woods move more than others and different climates reduce or exacerbate the problem. When resawing solid I usually resaw at 1/8", glue it down and then run it through a wide belt sander to finish out at a 1/16".

Sincerely
