I've successfully used Mario Rodriguez' technique of ironing on veneer using Tetebond glue on both surfaces, allowing to set for 30 minutes and then ironing on.Is there an iron-on technique for urea glue? I've been told no because its not a thermoplastic glue. I'm not sure I believe this yet. Is this the case?

Dear Mick,I have gotten this question many times and I need to try it myself to see what happens. I have talked to someone who says you can iron on urea glue but I am skeptical. On yellow glue, you are brushing both surfaces, letting it dry and then re-liquifying the glue with the iron to bond the two surfaces. With urea glue you cant do that, the iron will just catalize the glue. If it would work at all, you would iron it on wet and the iron would catalize the glue as you go. Give it a test and tell us all what the results are. My vote says, not so good.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I've successfully used Mario Rodriguez' technique of ironing on : veneer using Tetebond glue on both surfaces, allowing to set for 30 : minutes and then ironing on.: Is there an iron-on technique for urea glue?
