Dear Mike,I think you will have problems trying to veneer assembled speakers in your hydraulic press. Your press may have very uniform pressure but your speaker boxes do not have support in the center to push back against the press. You most likely will get good adhesion around the edges but not in the middle. I would rethink your approach.I know you dont have to worry about the miters if you veneer afterwards, but a good blade in a good table saw should be able to give you quality results. I recommend veneering first and then assembling.SincerelyDarryl Keil: My company has a hydraulic press used to veneer MDF. I would like to : use this to veneer my speaker cabinets. I have two MDF cabinets : already built 40" H x 9" W x 12" D. I need to veneer the four : sides. How much pressure or weight do I need? The pressure from the : press should be very uniform. What do I use between the veneer and : press? If I use an MDF caul between the press and veneer, what do I : use between the caul and veneer to prevent gluing them together?: I'm also building two more boxes. Is it easier to veneer the MDF : prior to assembly? I'm afraid if I do it this way I will not get : good tight corner seems on the boxes with miter joints that I can get : veneering assembled boxes.: Thank you!
