I am constructing a membrane vacuum press and I wonder if it is possible to use a turbine vacuum pump (the kind ofpumps that are used to vacuum a big volume of air for heavy equipment lifting. The specs of the pump I found are in metric measures as follows : 180 millibar vac . 2.4 cubic meters per minute of air removal with 1.1 Hp motor , Will this pump fit the job. I would appriciate a prompt reply as this pump is on sale at a special price .Thanks J-P haggar

Dear Jean-Paul,The rate of air removal sounds fine but we use inches of mercury (HG)for rating vacuum, so I do not know the bar equivelent. In HG I would recommend over 20HG, 25HG would be best. I will let you convert this to bar.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I am constructing a membrane vacuum press and I wonder if it is possible to use a turbine vacuum pump (the kind of: pumps that are used to vacuum a big volume of air for heavy equipment lifting.
