Dear David,You will probably be fine, depends somewhat on how big your panel is and what it will be used for. You may get a little warpage. For maximum stability and balance same type of material front and back is best. With paper backed veneer I recommend a light coat on both surfaces rather than just the substrate. That should solve your problem. Never put glue on both surfaces when using raw veneer, only the substrate. If your veneer comes off easily just sand the substrate well with an orbital sander, 80grit and glue again. SincerelyDarryl Keil: Hi everbody-great forum.: I have just finished pressing some panels that have a raw veneer face : and a paper-backed veneer back. Am I likely to get balance problems? : Also, I find that the paper-backed veneer does not seem to be : adhering very well. I am using the lightweight MDF for the substrate : and urea-formaldehyde glue, 75+ degrees in the shop. The raw veneer : is holding just fine. If, GOD FORBID, I have to pull off the : offending paper backed veneer, do you have recommendations on how : best to reapply? Thanks!
