I have done some work on exterior doors with veneer and have found there to be two main considerations. First, the adhesive you use has to be resistant to changes in temperature - Unibond is an excellent choice. The other main consideration has to be the finish - you absolutely cannot skimp in this area. The higher quality the finish, the better off you will be. Guardsman is a high quality catalyzed polyester finish, but at near $100 a gallon, the cost can be prohibitive, and it must be sprayed. The beauty and durability are unmatched, though, in my experience.: I'am about to start a radiused exterior door and was considering : using veneer. What are your toughts on this? The door should be some : what protected from direct expossure to the weather.
