Dear Tony,I have never found the flattening solution to affect staining of the veneer. Of course you need to sand and scrape the veneer thoroughly after pressing to remove any residue from the surface but that is usually removed anyway in the process of preparing the veneer for finish.Dont take my word for it though, do a test yourself, one without flattening solution and one with. Scrape sand and stain, see what you get.sincerelyDarryl Keil: Hello Daryl. I just got your video and am about to embark on my first veneer project. I'm building a mahoganydesktop stand : for a printer. It will have doors on which I plan/hope to apply some mahogany crotch veneer I ordered from Constantines. I : plan on dyeing the mahogany with aniline dye. Will the flattening solution hinder the dye? Your video was very informative. : I'm looking forward to some veneering projects. Hope to buy a vac setup sometime soon. Thanks.: Tony
