I was just wondering how many pounds of pressure per square foot (or inch) is created by a vacuum that is pulling 22" of Hg?

Dear Barry,Every inch of mercury is about .48 of a pound which would amount to about ten and a half pounds per square inch. Remember that vacuum veneering is not just using psi to achieve a good glue bond. Vacuum draws the air out of the cell structure and actually pulls the glue in. The two forces combined give you a good bond. 22HG is acceptable vacuum for veneering.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I was just wondering how many pounds of pressure per square foot (or : inch) is created by a vacuum that is pulling 22" of Hg?
