Dear Francois,Fiberglass resin sticks fine to itself but poorly to wood. I dont think you would be happy with the results for veneering. Also, acetone gives the best bite on vinyl for gluing it together.sincerelyDarryl Keil: I have just completed assembling a 54x100 vinyl bag and wanted to pass : along how it went. I found out that its very difficult to glue the : vinyl sheets together unless you clean the surfaces to be glued with : thinner then use vinyl glue. I first tried polyurethane marine sealant : which is used to install deck fittings on boat and is described in the : boating community as the "grip of death" sealant but it peeled off : very nicely from the new vinyl. A similar thing happened with vinyl : glue. Once cleaned with thinner, the vinyl glue just fused the 2 : sheets together. To close the open end, I just roll some of it and : clamp it under 2 wood strips.: Has anybody tried gluing with polyester resin used in fiberglass : construction?: I figured since it cures in about 15 minutes, I could press many : sheets a day. My concerns would be the bleed through. I f this stuff : goes through and soaks the veneer tape, I would almost have to grind : it off!: I also thought that since it does not release/absorb moisture, I could : veneer only one side of a piece.
