I will be veneering backed red birch veneer to both sides of 3/4" hardwood plywood. The pieces are about 80" x 24", so the grain on the plywood (substrate) will run in the same direction I want the grain on the veneer. Is there a problem with not having the veneer grain at right angles to the substrate grain?

Dear David,Your fine in this situation veneering in the same direction as the layer underneath is not coarse or thick. The core layers are the ones you need to be insulated from which the face veneer is doing for you.sincerelyDarryl Keil: I will be veneering backed red birch veneer to both sides of 3/4" : hardwood plywood.
