Is there anything wrong with using hotmelt adhesive sheet to glue small panels with veneer? I would like to make some 8" x 6" panels on 1/4" substrate material. The veneer is ash burl. Thanks !

Dear Joe,The problem with hot melt is the localized heat you will have to apply to get it stuck down.If there are any seams they will almost certainly open up as you iron the veneer down. Thataside, the panel you are wanting to make is quite small, so if there ar no seams you shouldbe able to make hot melt work. All in all hot melt is not a glue I would use, beside the seamproblem hot melt does not penetrate like regular glues and it is not as rigid, which is what youwant with veneer.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Is there anything wrong with using hotmelt adhesive sheet to glue : small panels with veneer?
