I am a novice doing my own kitchen cabinets using wood on wood veneer. How do I find a suitable match (it is not evident on the material) for a seam since some of the areas to be covered are larger than the veneer.I have no specialized equipment.

Dear Bob,I am not very clear on your question so I will answer what I think you are asking. If the panel is wider than your veneer pieces you will need to seam them together. To have the seam give that book matched you will need pieces of veneer that are sequenced. Lay two pieces of veneer on top of each other so the grain pattern is exactly in line and cut throughboth pieces. Fold them open like a book after cutting and tape the joint together with veneertape. Now you have a seamed veneer face.If this is not what you needed let me know. We also have a extensive video on the basicsof veneering called "Working with Veneer". You may want to check it out on this web siteunder, videos.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I am a novice doing my own kitchen cabinets using wood on wood veneer. : How do I find a suitable match (it is not evident on the material) for : a seam since some of the areas to be covered are larger than the : veneer.I have no specialized equipment.
