I have a marquetry panel glued to MDF. I usually sand off the veneer tape once I take it out of the bag. I fear sanding thru the picture and wounder if it is possible to first lightly wet the tape and soak it off then needing to only sand a little.

Dear Andy,I always take my veneer tape off by wetting it.I suggest getting a envelope licker from a office supply store which is a small bottle with a spounge on the end. Wet the veneer tape, let it sit for about a minute, re-wet it and thetape should peel right off.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I have a marquetry panel glued to MDF.
