Dear Ron,There are a number of reasons you had failure and without talking to you directly I can onlyguess.First your mixing ratio was fine although I prefer a 10 to 1 mix by weight. I dont know what kind of veneer you were using but I usually like to see a little bit of bleed through on open grain woods. Maybe a bit more glue would help. Also its very important that your room temperature is above 65 degrees for a good bond. There is no easy way to get the veneer off that has stuck other than sanding. You can giveme a call at 207-725-0935 if you want to talk more in depth about your situation.SincerelyDarryl Keil: My last attempt to glue up chair seats was a failure. I used the directions on the bottle for a fast set using the weight : method. I I mixed 8 grams of liquid to one gram of powder. I applied the glue with a 1/4" nap roller going in both directions . : When I took the bottom out of the bag glue had pressed out around the edges and the veneer was not attached at the : edges. I also did not have the bleed through I usually see with this much glue.: My question is, if I add more of the liquid to the hardner will this make the glue thinner and let more of it soak through the : veneer, thus making a better bond? : Another question may be, is there a better way to remove the veneer that did adhere than to sand it off?
