Subject : unibond conflicts?

I have some surfaces that I will be veneering that currently have a finish on them. Polyurethane over an oil finish as a guess. I plan to use a stripper to remove this old finish. The veneer will then be put on this surface. IF there are either any remains of the old finish or residue from the stripper will this affect the bond or curing of the Unibond used to adhere the new veneer? In the past I have had good luck with finishes, etc. over a stripped surface. As I have never used Unibond thought it would be good to check beforehand. Thanks for any help ahead of time. Marc

Dear Marc,Unibond needs good wood contact to bite into. As long as you get the finish off and sand wellyou should be fine. You dont have to have new wood but the surface needs to be clean so theglue can absorb in well.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I have some surfaces that I will be veneering that currently have a : finish on them.
