Subject : Glue dilution...

I am a beginner....what is a good glue dilution to start with for laminating. veneering? For white glue? ..... For Yellow glue? How long should each of these set before it is safe to take them out of the vacuum press?Thanks,Peter

Dear Peter,I dont recommend diluting your glue. I have never done it or needed to. By diluting the glue you are just adding even more water to the veneer which can wrinkle it and make it take longer to dry. If you must most manufactures recommend no more than 5%.In general 1 to 2hrs is usually sufficent but that depends on how much glue you apply. These times apply to flat unstressed work or curved work where you are just apply the veneer not trying to laminate the curved panel itself.
