What is the best solution for edge banding a flat panel? My first thought was to use yellow glue on both the edge of the panel and the banding, let dry then iron it on. My concerns are keeping glue off the already veneered surfaces. Also if you edge band first then how do you keep veneering glue from getting on the edge band?

Dear Rick,Although the iron on technique does work, I only use it when there is no other way. It give a better bond to clamp your edge banding on. As far as glue squeeze out, a little bit is just going to happen and really not a big problem. Because all veneer needs to be sanded before finishing I just scrape the glue off with a cabinet scraper and then do my sanding.SincerelyDarryl Keil: What is the best solution for edge banding a flat panel?
