Dear Ric,I hate to say it, but there is really no way to salvage your door. One of my primary rules with laminating, especially curved work, is balanced construction. You must always start from thecenter of a panel and make sure the same amount and thickness of layers are equal in bothdirections. Unfortunately, one sheet of 1/8" ply and one of 3/8" will not work. If you had put the3/8" in the middle with one 1/8" on either side, that would have been fine. Since you want toend up at 1/2", I assume, try 4 layers of 1/8" instead.Chalk it up to experience, we learn the clearest from our mistakes.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Darryl,: I have formed curved doors with 3/8" Bending ply and 1/8" bending ply : on one side in order to get the desired thickness. Unibond 800 was : used for the glue up. After removal from the bag, they begin to warp : from top to bottom. I figured that if I went ahead and veenered both : sides in the bag, it would straighten out and the moisture content : would be even on both sides after removal. After several days with : air circulating on all sides, the doors continued to warp further. : Did I make a mistake in using 1/8" bending ply on only one side? : Also, is there any way to salvage these doors without starting all : over? All doors reacted the same each time. I can't afford any : warpage as it will show on the finished piece. Your help would be : greatly appreciated!: Ric
