Dear Ken,As long as the circumference of the form and platen is less than the circumference of the bagin both directions, plus lets say an additional 12" for general room you'll be OK. How much extrato cut the platen down is really up to you. Another way to check the appropriate room is tomake sure that when the form is in the bag and before you turn on the vacuum, you can easily push the bag down to the form and platen with out it being restricted by either one.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Darryl,: I am laminating the top and bottom rails for a raised panel framework : for the front of a curved bar. The cord length is 103" and the : height of the curve is 12" above the cord at the centerline. I am : assuming the 49" x 121" platen that presently occupies the 4' x 10' : bag will need to be modified to accomodate that 12"+ form height. Do : I just make a similar platen design, say 24" x 115" to allow plenty : of room for the form, or is their a more specific formula : than "plenty of room"? Is their a platen design that would be most : adaptable to future uses or do we just forgo the platen altogether : and allow for another method to evacuate the air?: Thanks: Ken
