Sorry my question was vague. In making the top frame, how much Poly material do you use between the top lid and the base platen. Do you keep the 200% stretch rate for the Poly as part of the equation?I'm also trying silicone rubber sheeting instead of Poly as the membrane material. I do however think poly is far superior. Thanks

Dear Tim,I dont figure any stretch factors when using poly for a frame press. If the material has to stretch to get over what your pressing, it may stretch but it will bend your entire frame inward as it stretches. Thats why we came up with the pleated box construction style membrane I mentioned in the other post. For simplicity you may want to consider the silicon. It will stretch without affecting the frame so you can use a single sheet laid flat. The draw back of silicon is you cant see through it and its not as tough as urethane. There are more ways to look at this that would take too long on this forum to discuss. You may want to call me at 207-725-0935 to talk further.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Sorry my question was vague.: In making the top frame, how much Poly material do you use between : the top lid and the base platen.
