I am new to this forum, and would like to get some information.I am making some curved panels and was wondering what was the best substrate to use.The panels will have a curve of about 1.5" over 32".Can I use 3 layers of .25" mdf or plywood? Would bending ply work better, or is this a shallow enough curve for the mdf or ply? Thanks in advance. Wade Ellis

Dear Wade,The answer to your questions depend on more questions, like can you afford some spring back,is this panel being screwed to a frame work or is it a free swinging door?In general, bending plywood designed for curved work do the best job of holding tight to theshape of the form. 1/8" italian bending poplar and 3/8" bending ply are the most common choices. You need to decide if the extra cost is worth it, and that depends on your project. I will saythat the amount of bend you have described is gentle enough to use the materials you areconsidering. I would expect some spring back though.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I am new to this forum, and would like to get some information.I am : making some curved panels and was wondering what was the best : substrate to use.The panels will have a curve of about 1.5" over : 32".Can I use 3 layers of .25" mdf or plywood?
