Dear Chris,In all the years I have used 1/8" bending poplar I have never needed to put anything inbetween each layer like I would with 3/8" bending ply. I have always gotten excellent resultswith the 1/8" material. One thing I would suggest, is to stay away from 1/8" bending birch. It is only a two ply and not very stable in my experience, where bending poplar is three ply. AlsoI recommend a urea resin type glue, especially if you want the most stable panel.Sincerely Darryl Keil: Also, I need to fabricate some cabinet sides with a radius end and : veneer both sides with maple and birds eye maple veneer and plan to : use 1/8" poplar bending ply to fabricate. However there will be four : of these sides, two on each side of the cabinet which will house : tambour doors. Is there any reason for concern that by stacking up : 1/8" ply til I achieve the necessary thickness (3/4")and all in the : same orientation in order to accomodate the bend of the radius end, : that there is any likelyhood that the panels may buckle or warp and : thus interfere with the function of the tambour doors? Is the use of : a paper between layers to more isolate the 1/8" ply from each other : any kind of accepted practice? Thanks for any input !
