I'm a remodeler/finish carpenter and have a client who wants a fancy handrail. the railing is made of iron and they want the handrail to be made of maple burl. there is some tight curves and curl on the handrail. my idea was to make a base handrail and then vacu form the veneer to that. does that seem feasible? If you have any other ideas that would be helpful.thanksChris

Dear Chris,Veneer a handrail should not really be a problem. It can't have some detailed profile but a basic hand rail will be fine.sincerelyDarryl Keil: I'm a remodeler/finish carpenter and have a client who wants a fancy : handrail. the railing is made of iron and they want the handrail to : be made of maple burl. there is some tight curves and curl on the : handrail. my idea was to make a base handrail and then vacu form the : veneer to that. does that seem feasible?
