Subject : Glycerine and eopxy?

I am about to laminate up a lot of curved trim pieces for my boat interior using 1/8" and 1/16" cherry veneer and epoxy. (companionway steps, fiddle rails, bunk combings, door frames, etc.) Some of the veneers need to be flattened first. I usually wet it down with 10% glycerine and water solution and press it in paper for a few days but I am worried about the effect the glycerine will have on epoxy. Anyone have experience with this?If there is a compatability problem with epoxy I need to decide on a different waterproof glue. What kind of results has anyone gotten veneering with polyurethane glue?

Dear Glenn,As long as you wick the moisture out thoroughly with the paper before pressing you will be fine. Are you sure you need to do this as I have never found 1/16 or 1/8 veneer to really need flatening and Im not sure how effective flattening solution will be at that thickness.
