Hey Guys-I applied a redwood burl veneer ( no backer) to a car console with 2 part epoxy. It appear the epoxy invaded the pores so much so that the urethane finish added no life or luster to the wood. What a bummer! I am open to suggestion. There is little tolerance in terms of thickness increase, hence i used no backer.

Dear Russell,Usually if you scrape and sand all the surface bleed through off you do not have this problem. Another solution is to use polyurethane instead. It would not bleed through so badly and can be cleaned off much easier.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Hey Guys-: I applied a redwood burl veneer ( no backer) to a car console with 2 : part epoxy.
