Dear Larry,Although Unibond 800 has much less moisture than yellow glue it still needs to get out. Air ciculation on both sides allows the moisture to get out evenly.Sometimes I do the back side first and sometimes I do the front side first. I usually grab the edge of the panel so I dont touch the glue anyway. Its been a few years since I made that video so I dont really remember how I did the pressing. Do what ever works best for you, we all have our techniques. You can make a 8' jig just like the shorter one. On the long one I used a extremely deep deep throat clamp from the back side to apply extra pressure in the middle of the jig.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Darryl,: I've really enjoyed your video -- all three times I watched it. (I'm now even planning my first veneer project.) : But there were three points that raised questions:: In the demo you said to set the panel to air both sides to avoid warping. But isn't all the moisture in the : 800 glue trapped in the glue itself; why would it cause warping (it wasn't clear in context if your : comment was intended as a general precaution or specific to that panel)?: I was interested that you applied the face first and turned it to the bottom -- wouldn't that risk finger: marks messing the glue line on the critical surface; why not lay the backer first? I know that I have : lot's of routines that just happen to have locked in because I did it that way first; is that what's : happening here?: I like your edging jig, but what do you do if you need a long ... say 7' ... edge? : Thanks for a great video; I'm planning on ordering your other 2 with some supplies.: Very Respectfully,: Larry Root
