Dear Larry,There isn't just one answer to that question. It depends on a number of factors. First is temperature, Unibond 800 sets faster as the temperature increases, about 4-5hrs at 70 degrees and 1hr at 90 degrees. The other factor is the stress factor. Is it a flat unstressed veneered panel or are you laminating resawn solid wood over a fairly tight radius? If its a flat unstressed veneered panel I leave it under pressure until extra glue I put in a baggie turns to firm rubber. If its a bent lamination under stress I simply leave it under pressure overnight, basically until the glue is brittle. The baggie test is a good way to keep track of the curing of the glue. The reason for the baggie is this, If you leave a quantity of extra glue in the cup you mixed with the glue in volume can heat accelerate on itself and give you a false reading. A baggie keeps the glue line fairly thin so it mimics the panel being pressed.SincerelyDarryl Keil: How long should panel stay under Vacuum, useing Unibond 800, glue?
