Dear Geoff,You could use a regular PVA glue but a rigid glue will give you the best results. You may want to try polyurethane glue, as it has no color so the contrasting woods wont be a problem with it and it will give you a rigid glue line like a urea. Its a little thick to spread but you are not doing a large area. Be sure to go light with the glue, polyurethane foams up when it sets.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Greetings:: I am using veneer for the first time and need some guidance. I have : constructed a traditional chess board pattern from mahogany and maple : veneer and am ready to glue it to my substrate (MDF). I will be : using a cold press built from two pieces of mdf with many, many : clamps. What glue would be best for this application? I am very : concerned about delamination and the glue lines between the squares : seperating. Also, since the light squares are maple, I have heard : that urea glue can cause them to turn yellow. That too is a big : concern. Any suggestions? Thank you for your help.
