I believe that it is a good idea to sand lightly the substrate and veneer (such as MDF) before gluing. This can be a time-consuming and tricky ( the veneer is so thin ) step, but it's worth it to remove dirt and oxidation that could affect the bond. Any opinions?

Dear Marc,Its not a bad idea to rough up the MDF but is unnecessary to do the veneer, the glue will bond fine as is.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I believe that it is a good idea to sand lightly the substrate and : veneer (such as MDF) before gluing.
