Subject : How to join veneered MDF panels?

With the use of a vacuum press, I would like to try a new technique. Veneer and sand both sides of MDF parts and then permanently join them together to form the final project. Questions: Is this a good idea? If so, how would anyone recommend I join MDF panels without any visible fasteners? Isn't MDF difficult to join?

Marc, I would reccomend using a continuos spline of 1/8 plywood to join the panels. The groove should be made using a spline cutter on your router always indexing off the same side that would be the face or the back, whichever you choose. However, I would strongly suggest you wait to do any sanding untill after the panels are joined and the glue has cured. Hope this helps, John.
