In the 'Working with Veneer' video Darryl used a clever technique for creating a bit of inlay that was used to frame a veneer field. It involved glueing up a small stack of veneers and then placing this stack on edge against the field. The example involved a stack of various types of veneer giving the impression of an intricate band of inlays. I am wondering if this same technique could be used in an application where the inlayed frame would look like a piece of 1/8" ebony? Could I glue up a stack of walnut that had been dyed black to achieve this effect?
