I bought a piece of MDF 3/4" board to use as a desk top. I recently purchased a 4 x 8 piece of Cherry veneer (paper backed). What type of glue should I use?Should I sand down the MDF board 1st?I plan on staining a darker color and then laquer finish.- Thanks in advance for your help.

Dear Michael,You did not say if you had a press or not as that changes your options for glueing. For a desk top the best choice for glue is urea resin which would require a press. The next choice down would be a white or yellow glue, also requiring a press. Dont forget you need to put veneer on the back side to balance the panel. You dont need to sand down the MDF but if the surface is somewhat slick you might want to rough it up a bit.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I bought a piece of MDF 3/4" board to use as a desk top.
