Rick,You can definately stack panels in a vacuum press. I have done it for years. I do recommend something rigid between each panel, even a piece of plastic laminate, just so its not veneer against veneer. This only applies with commercially sawn veneer. If you are using shop sawn veneer you do not need a cover sheet anywhere, even against the bag.I do think multiple stacking is not for PVA glues because they tack to fast. Your first panel on the bottom may be setting up while you are still applying glue to the top one. Better to use Urea Resin glues or some other long setting types.SincerelyDarryl Keil: My question is about pressing multiple panels in a stacked : arrangement. It seems to be a waste to have a top caul for each : panel since their all the same size. If I stack all panels on top of : each other with a caul over just the top panel can I expect to see : the same result compared to pressing each with it's own seperate : caul. How many can be stacked ?. Also when pressing shop saw : veneer about an eighth of an inch in thickness is it necessary to : have a bottom caul or can the veneer sit directly on the platen. : Thanks in advance for your help.
