Tony,Its all in the uniform pressure. If you can achieve that how you get there doesnt really matter. Thats what makes a vacuum press so successful, very uniform pressure.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Can you glue up tabletop made of different thicknesses without a bag? You suggest gluing up the top veneer/inlay/border : and using thin rubber to even things out, but what if you are using clamps and platens? I guess in theory, the process should : work the same assuming you have plenty of clamps.?Tony
