Subject : Different Thickness Veneers w/o a bag?

Can you glue up tabletop made of different thicknesses without a bag? You suggest gluing up the top veneer/inlay/border and using thin rubber to even things out, but what if you are using clamps and platens? I guess in theory, the process should work the same assuming you have plenty of clamps.?Tony

Tony,Its all in the uniform pressure. If you can achieve that how you get there doesnt really matter.
