I was curious about what people think of veneering onto solid woods of the same specieces. I would like to apply figured Honduras Mahogany to solid Mahogany panels. The largest panel would probaby be about 18" square. I would like to use a fiddleback Mahogany and was wondering if I'm asking for trouble. Also can anyone reccommend a supplier for this specific veneer. I'm in British Columbia, Canada so the closer the better.

Rick,You can definately veneer onto solid wood, just apply the veneer with the grain in the same direction as the grain of the solid wood.Edensaw is a veneer supplier in Seattle, try them.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I was curious about what people think of veneering onto solid woods : of the same specieces.
