Dean,One way is to lay your veneer onto another veneer at 90 degrees in the press first. This is called two ply. After this is pressed you can then glue it to your project with contact cement in the center with a 1" border of yellow glue around the edges. Two ply is more like plastic laminate since the face veneer has been stabilized. This allows you to use contact cement without worrying about delaminating or bubbling of the face veneer. I hard glue the edges to make sure they cant peel back over time. Dont let the two ply sit around for more than a day without putting on your piece as it tends to curl up on itself and becomes a bit unruly.SincerelyDarryl Keil: When veneering pcs that can't be put in bag because of construction, say veneer pcs put on after part of the project is : assembled, what is the perferred way? I understand contact isn't good. Say the pc was larger than ironing could do and : curved? Thanks!
