Subject : Edge or face first?

I am going to use my new vac for the first time in a few days and was wondering weather to veneer the sides or edges of a curved cabinet door first or after the face. I will be using 2-ply English Pear with urea formaldihide glue. Also....the drawers will have a white melamine type veneer on the inside, Pear on the outside. Do I need to 2-ply the melamine to balance the Pear?

Brian, Whenever I glue up a door or drawer front, I always glue the face and back first to allow for fitting after the glue cures, also, since your using 2 ply for your face, then veneering the edge last will cover up the double veneer line from the face veneer. As far as the mel veneer is concerned, the rule I use is, even number of glue lines, odd number of plys. Hope this helps, John.
