Darrel,I saw your presentation in Anaheim at the AWFS show last August and remember your intentional explosion of a H structure. My question is can a vacuum press be used on apply veneer to torson boxes or will the press shatter the torson boxes like it did your little structure at the show? The boxes would be made from 1/2" MDF top and bottom with ribbing of course. 8 X 8 inches would be the largest cavity between supports.

Dear Dennis,Bring your ribbing down to 6x6 and you should be fine. When you veneer it make sure your cover sheet is no more than 1/4" thick so that under pressure the cover sheet will apply full pressure even if the 1/2"mdf bows a little during pressing.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Darrel,: I saw your presentation in Anaheim at the AWFS show last August and remember your intentional explosion of a H structure. : My question is can a vacuum press be used on apply veneer to torson boxes or will the press shatter the torson boxes like : it did your little structure at the show?
