Dear Dennis,Bring your ribbing down to 6x6 and you should be fine. When you veneer it make sure your cover sheet is no more than 1/4" thick so that under pressure the cover sheet will apply full pressure even if the 1/2"mdf bows a little during pressing.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Darrel,: I saw your presentation in Anaheim at the AWFS show last August and remember your intentional explosion of a H structure. : My question is can a vacuum press be used on apply veneer to torson boxes or will the press shatter the torson boxes like : it did your little structure at the show? The boxes would be made from 1/2" MDF top and bottom with ribbing of course. 8 X 8 : inches would be the largest cavity between supports.
