I am new to veneering and would like to know what most of you use for adhesive. 1-yellow glue or contact cement? 2-How flat should veneer be before glueing it? 3-What is the quickest way to flatten veneer? I am using ribbon mahagony veneer. Thanks, John

John,I dont recommend contact cement for veneering. The two most common veneering glues are yellow glue and urea resin glue. Its hard on a forum to describe how flat a veneer has to be, but I have never seen ribbon mahogany that needs flattening so I would not be concerned about it.In general, I flatten veneer when it is too difficult to tape the joints togther and get a good tight level seam.SinerelyDarryl Keil: I am new to veneering and would like to know what most of you use for : adhesive. 1-yellow glue or contact cement? 2-How flat should veneer : be before glueing it? 3-What is the quickest way to flatten veneer? : I am using ribbon mahagony veneer. : Thanks, : John
