Subject : Hmmm blue tape works

Just a note ... did a layup yesterday ( btw Darryl .. the 1/8 ply backing seems to have worked ) ... had no veneer tape so simply used 3M Blue quick release masking tape. It worked GREAT !!! Now I'm wondering why I've ever spent time scraping off veneer tape.Art

Art,I can see the quick release tape working on 1/8" ply or resawn veneer but you may not like the results on standard commercially cut veneer.Also, if you are scraping your paper veneer tape off consider wetting it with an envelope licker, let it sit for a couple of minutes, wet again, wait another minute.
