Rick,When you veneer on top of solid especially a piece as wide as yours, always apply a single veneer going in the same direction as the solid. This way everything can move together. The fact that your core is quarter cut will not make a differnce. If your panel is the actual door, not just the door panel, put the same veneer on the front and back for balanceSincerelyDarryl Keil: I'm working on a project in Bubinga and will be veneering the : paneled doors with a figured Bubinga veneer. I have glued the door : panels out of strips 1/2" thick by 1 3/8" wide to make a total width : of 18" x 27" long. By using many small strips of edge grain material : I hope to minimize wood movement. My question is this. Do I need to : make a two ply to press onto the substrate or can I press the single : sheet of veneer directly?. Will wood movement between these strips : since they are quartered material cause any defects in the finished : piece. Any help would be appreciated.: Thanks: Rick
