Wouldn't leaving a closed form closed (not drilled) keep the pressure inside it high enough to keep the bag from collapsing it?

nope. the smallest air leak would be the end of it. years ago when i first started working with a vacuum press, we tried all kinds of clever ways to save material/time/weight when making the forms. lost a few forms; gained a lot of respect for the force of the press. now i just make my forms as recommended. its still faster than male/female forms, and more forgiving in regards to laminate and veneer thickness. all in all even if i only use a form once, its still worth the effort compared to contact cement or straps or whatever rube goldberg i've come up with before.jason: Wouldn't leaving a closed form closed (not drilled) keep the : pressure inside it high enough to keep the bag from collapsing it?
