I am using gorilla glue (poly) to glue reconstituted veneers to aluminum. These veneers are very porous and I am getting significant bleed through which is giving me trouble with my finishes. Any suggestions on how to minimize/eliminate the bleed through?

Jeff,Well, you could scrape and sand thouroughly after pressing, making sure you removed all the surface bleed through. That works well for me. You could also seal the back side with diluted yellow glue but you will have to hold the veneer flat until it dries so the veneer wont warp. Since you are using polyurethane glue you could apply a coat of poly finish on the back and let that dry. Poly wouldnt swell the grain and urethane glue will still adhere.SincerelyDarryl Keil: I am using gorilla glue (poly) to glue reconstituted veneers to : aluminum.
