Darryl,Ok, let’s just chalk this up to my first attempt, but I want to run this major screw up by you so that the next one comes out correct.I started out with three sheets 18 x 20 of waterfall bubinga. I applied and performed the flattening solution process as you recommended and waited for the third day to attach the veneer.I used Titebond Cold Press glue and ½”mdf as a substrate. Now I do want you to know that I ordered the video on Friday, and was going on some “good ol’ boy” info that sounded reasonable. I took the piece out of the press last night after about 7 hours. I let it sit overnight and put it in my car this morning to drop off after work. 82F at noon today.Because of my lack of knowledge and thought that the mdf is a stable substrate I did not veneer the back. What I now have is an 18 inch square that if you hold down on one edge on the face side the other side is a good 1/8” off a flat surface. Many, cracks in the veneer and several places where the cracks have actually separated from the substrate. Now just guessing, the veneer was not dry and I should have let it set another day. The heat in the car caused it to dry very quickly shrinking which caused the bow, cracking and separation of the veneer. How should I have done this. I will probably not do any more until I watch the video.Any help will be appreciated.Les

Les,Putting the panel in a hot car and veneering only one side are the two problems I see. The warpage came from veneer on one side only and the cracking came from the panel in a hot enviornment too soon. The veneer needs to sit a good 24 hours before it is exposed to extremes in temperature. Even if the veneer was dry, the yellow glue introduces moisture back into the veneer which takes a while to get back out.SincerelyDarryl Keil: Darryl,: Ok, let’s just chalk this up to my first attempt, but I want to run : this major screw up by you so that the next one comes out correct.: I started out with three sheets 18 x 20 of waterfall bubinga.
